Polygloat is a language learning app operated by Polygloat, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Questions can be directed to legal@polygloat.com.
By creating an account or using Polygloat, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may update these terms at any time. When we make material changes we will ask you to review and accept the updated terms before continuing to use the app.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Polygloat. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Polygloat uses passwordless authentication. You sign in via a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. You may not create accounts on behalf of others or share your account.
Polygloat is a language learning platform where users watch short videos in a target language. The app tracks vocabulary you have encountered and uses spaced repetition to recommend videos containing words you are ready to learn next. Some users may also upload content for others to learn from.
If you upload content, you retain ownership of all videos you upload. By uploading you grant Polygloat a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, irrevocable, sublicensable license to store, display, process, transcribe, translate, and distribute your content to other users of the app for language learning purposes. This license survives account deletion for content you choose to retain on the platform anonymously.
You may not use Polygloat to:
Polygloat has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Objectionable content includes, without limitation, anything listed in Section 7.
You can protect yourself and help keep the community safe using the tools built into the app:
We commit to reviewing every report within 24 hours and will remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Users who repeatedly or flagrantly violate these terms will be permanently banned and may not create new accounts to evade the ban.
We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account at our discretion, without notice and without obligation to provide a reason. If you believe your content was removed in error, contact legal@polygloat.com.
All rights in the Polygloat app, its design, algorithms, and branding belong to Polygloat. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property.
Polygloat is provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the app. Language learning outcomes depend on many factors outside our control and we make no guarantees about fluency or progress.
To the extent permitted by Dutch law, Polygloat is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam.
